Install Litematica
For when you want to build the schematic by hand in survival instead of pasting it all at once.
What it’s for
Litematica doesn’t paste the build. It shows it to you as a transparent hologram over the world, and you build it block by block following the guide. This is what you use in survival, or when you want to see how something was made.
What you need
Litematica is a client mod, not a server plugin. You need:
- Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version
- MaLiLib, the library Litematica depends on
- Litematica matching your Minecraft version
All three versions need to line up. This is the number one failure: grabbing Litematica for 1.21 and MaLiLib for 1.20.
Installing it
- Install Fabric Loader and launch the game once so the
modsfolder gets created. - Copy the MaLiLib and Litematica
.jarfiles intomods. - Launch the game. If Fabric loaded them correctly, they’ll show up in the mod list.
Loading a schematic
Drop the .litematic file here:
.minecraft/schematics/
In-game, open the Litematica menu with M, go into Load Schematics, pick the file and hit Load. The hologram appears wherever you’re looking.
Placing it where you want
Press M to go back to the menu. Under Schematic Placements you can move, rotate and mirror the projection before you start building. Get it right before placing the first block — moving the projection afterward doesn’t move what you’ve already built.
If you don’t see the hologram
- Check that the schematic is loaded, not just selected.
- Check whether the projection ended up far from where you’re standing.
- Increase Litematica’s render distance in the settings.
